Deciding our route based on 70-degree weather

So here is an overview for what the first year could look like.  We decided to make our first summer to winter trek from:  Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  This would basically cover: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

We have a lot to learn this first year.  This route seemed to allow us the time to figure things out.  We would then start from Big Bend National Park in March of 2018 and work our way up to Alberta, Canada by way of: New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.  We would then make our way back down to Quartzite, Arizona by way of Idaho, Utah, Arizona. In 2019, we would begin the trek back up to British Columbia by way of Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The trek down to San Diego would go through Washington, Oregon and California.

We want to follow the 70-degree weather.  This is a basic itinerary of what the first year would look like for us (click on hyperlink to take you to a weather page we used for planning purposes):
